If you have just said  a prayer asking Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior then you have made a life long commitment to follow Him, and to put Him first in your life.                                             

so what does it mean to confess Jesus is Lord of your life?                                            Lord = a ruler; master (Webster's new world Dictionary)                                                   When we say that Jesus is Lord in our life, we are saying that he is ruler in our life, master of our life, we live our life to serve Him. We must put Him before everything else in our life including our self. Jesus said:

"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow     me."    Matthew 16:24                                                                                                           so what dose that mean for your life? What dose it mean to deny yourself and follow Jesus?       To deny yourself and follow Jesus you must put Jesus first in your life, you must stop putting your time and your money and your success before God. We so often put our wants and desires before God. In order to follow Jesus we must first know Jesus, we must build a relationship with God in order to know God. In order to follow and serve God we must first know where God is and how he wants us to serve Him.

                 How do I build a relationship with God?                   

 You start by saying a prayer, telling God that you are sorry for the things you have done wrong in your life, you ask for his forgiveness, thanking him for dying on the cross so that you could be forgiven, and ask for the Holy Spirit to be sent to live in your heart so that you will have power to live your life for Him. Maybe you have already done that, if you haven't and it is something that you want to do push the salvation button at the bottom of this page. After you have prayed and asked Jesus into your life you need to build your relationship with him. This is done by reading God's word (the Holy Bible) and continuing to pray asking God to draw you closer to Himself. You should also, surround yourself with other believers who can teach and help you in your relationship with God, and who will worship God with you. You will find these people in a church. By attending church you will be surrounded by other believers who will encourage and walk with  you. Putting God first in your life and being obedient to him is not a easy task, so you need to surround yourself with people that will help you when you face trials and temptations. As we are obedient to God and his will he will begin to do more and more in your life, and you will begin to grow closer to him.
